Blackpool Pricebusters to Close

Showing at Other

Pricebusters on Bank Hey street will cease trading for the final time on November 5th after the owner Adam Hill Ltd decided it was not at all feasible to keep it open.

Local traders at a the landmark store in Blackpool market were furious after being told the store will close at the end of this season.

Unfortunately this is all down to the decline in the number of tourists to Blackpool and the strong competition from other low price retailers such as Primark.

The store first opened in April 1985 an boasted more than 120 independent traders selling everything from gifts, clothing and novelties.pricebusters.jpg

The traders affected will receive a one off payment from the owners which they say will be to the cost of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

This is just another step to Blackpool losing it’s heritage and unfortunately it is inevitable, it will be the local people who will suffer.

As a consumer as well as a local person I am finding it quite difficult to see how this will benefit Blackpool in the grand scheme of things.
