Les Dawson Statue to be unveiled in St Annes
Due to the massive contributions Les Dawson paid in his life to the fylde as a local stand up comedian we have finally been given the go ahead to honour his memory with a statue!
This £60,000 statue will be the centerpiece in the new garden of fame near St Annes pier.
The appeal for this statue has been supported across the fylde coast by more than 3.000 people and has final been acknowledged as a worth while attribute to honour a much loved man.
However there is mixed view by members of Les’s family as to weather the money raised should indeed go to a more worthy cause.
In Les’s life he was a very private man and supported so many very important charities and although we all would love to have the statue I can not help wonder is this what Les would of wanted?
